3 of us cleaned a color sealed 632 feet in about 3.5 hours.

We wasted considerable time trying to get use to the Shamwows.

Thick cotton towels are just plain faster in my experience.

Only 5368 feet to go.

Pics were taken before we buffed off the haze.

Re: Day one

So once you get rolling I wonder what production will look like. It's a real eye opener. It looks like doing larger areas should be at least a two man job.

Re: Day one

Nope.

Day two went smooth.
Two of us covered 415 sf in 2:45 or so

I find that we get the best/speediest results by using a Costco Cotton towel first then follow up with a Shamy to get the dried stuff off. Wiping up every ten 12 by 12 tiles on average

When we're done with a large area we use encap pads and some very diluted Neutral pH cleaner to get the haze off followed by a white pad to get rid of the wheel and foot prints.

Grout Perfect.

perfect name for sure.

Re: Day one

Day 3 clued me into the fact that I was spending way too much time with towels cleaning up excess color seal

I'm letting the 175 OP pad get it now, followed by a fiber pad.

Re: Day one

For final cleanup/buff, I would use a 175 w/white pad, and dilluted windex (3oz/qt water). Once done color sealing area, lightly mist 10x10 then buff with white pad.

BTW, congrats on the work, looks like a nice payday!

Is this the same Scrubbs that has seen the Light on ***?

Dont you find that just a white pad leaves some haze behind?

Have you tried a OP blend then the fiber?

Re: Day one

LOL, I'm caught....

On the few tiles I have found the white pad not working well, I switch to a bonnet (either green or blue stripe) both seem to work equally well for me.
I have not tried the OP then fiber.
My "normal process" on 12x12 is apply cs 10-15ft, 3 lines deep, wipe with chaois (chammey LOL), then next 3 lines. Same direction until done, then switch and do the remaining same pattern. If extremely flat (glossy) tile use a bonnet, otherwise buff with white pad. Sometimes I may use a dry 24" mop (just for foot prints) as a last step.

Re: Day one

By the looks of the pics, I would have to say no. I have mainly stayed residential, I think my biggest job was something like 1600sqft plus 2 1/2 baths and 1 tub surround with seperate shower. 3 guys (including me) took 9 1/2 hours. All showers were color sealed.

BTW also a big fan of GP!

Re: Day one

Re: Day one

LOL dont ya love it!!!

I've been working on this PITA. Only 600sqft but it had a topical that I am not familar with and it's not been easy to remove. Today was the 3rd day (1st one only about 3 hours, 2nd 1hr to test chems, then today about 8 hours). Finally got it to the point where we will be color sealing on Monday, but what a Pita! But hey, lol thats why I enjoy it....

Re: Day one

Yea, I heard about that stuff.
I found a few things that made a dent...thing is none of them were consistent with the results. I know it may sound bizzare but, same procedure, dwell time, scrub, then 1800 psi and still had to do it 2x....in certain spots we needed to switch chems to remove the remainder. Live and learn.

any chance it was that MB (the other MB) Topical stuff?

I'm not sure what "MB" is. This crap was thicker in some areas than others. Almost like some kind of self leveling. When it was dry, it had a high gloss shine to it.

When I do go over there I always find myself defending you !

Seriously though, how long will that color seal last on a commercial floor?

have you ever done a job this large?

3 hours of CSing and I'm ready to kill someone.

RA comes to mind.

Why are you working 2 to 4 hours at a time? It's so nice an open. Won't they let you in after hours? Seems like as wide open as that is you could do it in 3, 10 hour nights.

Re: Day one

I've never done color sealing, but I've cleaned some jobs that probably could have used it.

I know nothing about color sealing... where do I get some more info?

Re: Day one

I work long days. If I had to pull ten hour nights I wouldn't be able to work the next day.

As it is now I have 12 to 14 sweet $250 an hour jobs for the next couple weeks.

If Doug would like to come up and seal the two bathrooms for me on a week night I would be really grateful.
