Deer tearing up LVP

I’m waiting on them to send me the video of shewing the deer out at 2am, but here’s what I had to clean up today

The deer knocked the glass off of the pane of the glass door. And the pane dropped off and didn’t break, surprisingly. I think because it fell on the LVP floor that has a rubber backing so it took the impact of the glass without cracking it. And the deer walked into the empty store and chilled out for a day or so.

It started panicking and put scratches all over the floor, shat and pissed on it.

And who’s the best in the area to work on it? Well, they called me so I’ll assume I’m that guy

Zoom in to look at the scratches. I’m not certain how they’ll look when the sunlight hits it after cleaning so any tips to remove the scratches I could try would help

Crazy thing is, a month ago this building was an art gallery business. Just think how much fancy valuable art would’ve been destroyed of that deer running everywhere demolishing that art

I already gave him his one option, which is to try and hide the scratches with a heat gun.

He asked if he could burnish them out..,

Burnishing causes heat which is why I suggested that. You just said no with no explanation. Have you tried that before? Do you even have a burnisher?

A burnisher would be a safer approach than a heat gun that might melt the LVP

Keep in mind this isn’t just on a concentrated single area. This is over 2500sq ft everywhere

You’re the entitled teacher here. If I were you, I’d start taking notes for when scratches come up in your future classes.

I have no desire to make it my problem. Thanks for your recommendation. I told them the floor might not be salvageable so they’re not expecting any miracles.

I hope he sends me the video soon because it shows that the scratches you see in the pictures are all very similar from the deer trying to gain traction but kept slipping and falling from its hoofs. There are some different scratches from the tenant but they look nothing like the ones on the picture.

The customer has been a good customer for several years, so I’m trying my best to help

If I was an idiot or a moron, I would have went the other route and bought some chemical wax finish from Home Depot or the "other guy" and slopped it on the LVP

But since I'm not any of those, I figured I'd ask you guys about it before I told the customer there was nothing I could do

The main reason they asked me to come was to remove the deer urine and droppings. He said if I could remove the scratches, that'd be great but they understood if I couldn't' get them out. I just started this thread trying to learn something new about this type of crap flooring

If you had the time you could do tests to see what it would take. With my main church account over the 35yrs., I used that as my laboratory. (they always allowed for it to their benefit)
