We tested those Cheetah pads in a class 2 years ago. Those things are sad compared to resin diamonds, they had holes in them after doing something like 100-150 sq ft if I remember right.

makes you wonder what?

it depends on what they're being run on. the problem with these segmented synthetic pads is the pad material wears faster then the segments on floors with lippage. So theoretically the pads will last 4,000 feet or whatever, but they get torn up in 1500. Now not only are you spending more on these pads than you would with better abrasives, you're losing money because they are wearing prematurely. if you're just doing demos and small floors with not too much lippage, sure, they'll last a few thousand feet. Resin diamonds can last a few hundred feet or thousands of feet. Depends on the stone, weight of the machine and how many passes you are doing, same as with the synthetic pads.

I have done a bunch of stone, granite, marble, concrete with these pads, still using the original and hardly have the logos worn off them, the pads are still in great shape.
Using a super high speed orbital... about 8 times faster than a rotary.

"If you don't know I'm not telling you" :icon_rolleyes:

The fact is no part of the contact surface of your machine is moving 120MPH. You won't show your math because you know you are full of shit. That seems to be a habit of yours.

orbital vs rotary......lets use wood tools as a comparison....

orbital DOES NOT remove as much material, nor does it beat the pad/disk up as bad...just doesnt...

now run a sanding disk on a rotary type driver, and watch the fookin sawdust fly, and see how long that disks last

benifit or orbital....very little to no scratch pattern

finally got to watch the interview video.

Damn, David put on some weight!

Always kinda goofy when the interviewer knows the answers to his own questions.

Cameron and Rob, John G has always been about taking the shortest cut to everything he does, why should stone be any different.
