What is the group's consensus here?
And the ICS bulletin board was not hacked!!!
I was at the Restoration Industry Association Convention & Trade Show yesterday and had no idea any of this was happening and all the accusations, innuendo and outright attacks was going on.
We have never given moderator or unusual post editing privileges to anyone or any company.
The intent of the edit function is for the immediate change/edit of a post you have made before others have had an opportunity to reply. Once they reply, this function does not allow you to edit your post. I now know how this happened and it was not a case of hacking. It will not happen again or be tolerated!!!
The ICS bulletin board exists to provide a forum for professionals to ask and answer questions to help with each others businesses. It is not intended to be a place for fun and frugality, jokes, politics, religion and certainly not personal attacks. That is not to say that we don’t allow other than strictly business posts, clearly we do, but it is not the intended purpose and there are many other outlets and forums to express whatever is on your mind even within the industry.
Respect is a critical component of this or any other professional forum. Please post respectfully and professionally or not at all.
Respectfully,
Evan Kessler, Publisher,
ICS Cleaning Specialist magazine
Evan's hatred for MB and Mike is blinding him to the fact that it is his BB that is losing in the BB wars not MB.

Chris, do you really think the boards are at war? Both seem to be active, healthy forums. It seems to me there is far more drama directed from here to there than vice versa.
In regards to the editing, ICS's sister board FCI was having trouble with a hacker last year, not sure if they got it sorted out. The hacker could put up a post under the guise of the last poster in a thread and would usually talk trash. It caused the members a lot of grief.
I now know how this happened and it was not a case of hacking. It will not happen again or be tolerated!!!
Jim,
Last year Evan told anyone who he considered to be a MBer that they would be banned from ICS if we posting MB stuff on ICS while the whole time ® has unlimited posting and editing abilities.

I think one of the things that plagues the board in particular is that too many folks are in bed together. Thus, it makes it difficult for Evan to take a strong stand in moderating the forum.
It seems that it is the opinion of the majority that if you buy a banner ad it excludes you from the rules. Far too often we see this. So, instead of Evan taking a stance against these folks, the same folks who are a revenue stream to him and ICS, some things are overlooked.
As we as cleaner discuss, once in a while it is good for business to fire a client. Perhaps Evan and ICS need to consider that occasionally. Perhaps rely on ethics and morals instead of cash and greed.
If Evan is not of strong enough character to do so, ICS and/or its parent company need to find a moderator who is. This would, I believe, cut out a lot of the crap that blatantly goes on here.
It is funny how you see Rob and Tre, along with their various alias, come on here and create havoc, yet none of that is tolerated on their own web site. They created a web site they constantly remind us is a huge benefit to the industry, so they should stay at 'home' then. Quit coming here.
Once the precedent is set to allow the rule breaking and frivolity that happens here, it can be hard to rein it in.

Todd dropped a bomb on them!

I bet he sleeps through church.
