Got my 2002 WM 1200 extended Chevy Express for $3000.

Lots of little and a few bigger issues but I don't have to work 40 or even 30 hours a week to make a good living.
I am debating on getting a newer van to put the WM in. The folks at Modernistic could do it for me they said.

If I was building a multi van company I would want something like a butler or cleanco for reliability and ease of use.

I take my kids to school every morning. I need my third seat. PTO is not an option for me. Plus I don't like having a cleaning machine that will last longer than my van. Slide-in's for me baby. As for the van, get a 1-ton and don't even think about anything less. I know it's tempting when you find a deal on a 2500, but don't do it. I've run the numbers several times when I found deals on 2500 Sprinter vans. But It's just pushing it to close to the limits.

My justification would be, you work with it, or on it;););). You could probably get into a new Butler for less than $1000 a month no matter if you lease it or buy it. The resale on them is good and if you are willing to work 40 hrs a week or more you can easily make the payment.
I ran two Butlers for 25 years, doing the same thing Mark Saiger does. Moved to the bigger units to be more efficient with less drama.
Ron, did you see I tagged you in my box truck thread? I would love your input.

Just saw an ad on craigslist for a 2003 butler and gmc van for 19k.....

That's 14 years he got out of it and still 20k. If he payed it off in 7 years, he got 7 years no payments(and 20k)...! Even if he got 500$ for it that's still great!

At the same time... I'm sure he has went through a trans and who knows how many other issues. Still... I'd do whatever mr tax man tells me, but I like things paid off.

Just because he is asking 20K does not mean he will get it. He has had it listed for a while. Maybe worth it? Larry is a great guy with a busy multitruck operation. I met him at SFS.

I hate it when they do not put the hours / mileage in an ad.

Yeah 19k is crazy money for an 03 unless it was an absolute cream puff, even then
