Do you cheat on your hose reels

When I got back-to-back jobs especially on the military base I don't roll them up on my Rokan reel...too much of a pain in the butt to just go two doors down and do it all over.. I just stack them up and bring them in the house and thrown down..

I would have to think most of you do the same

Make sure your hose is clean and the ends are well lubed. Remember to rinse when done and try not to get anything that makes them drip uncontrollably, smell bad or worse, start to rot. Whether you suck or spray, your hose is your friend.

Do the Butler live reels hold up better or should I expect that as a somewhat regular maintenance item?

The problem with a live reel is that even on short hose runs, you end up using all the hose on the reel. Why would want to use 250 feet of hose when you only need 100? You will get much faster drying times with shorter hoses.

They do really well.

The hose, if left on the spool...not so much. We don't use live of either. Inline filter for vac and our solution hoses last much longer off the reel.

It's not broken up with quick connection points to lose heat
Or cause real strain on the pump.

But for every quick connect or even that 90 degree bend brass fitting on the live reel you slow solution flow thru that hose. Better to just use a standard 100 foot and connect directly to the machine.

Maybe starts a drip and need replacing every 3 years or so... That's a guess. Not very common problem

I ran live reels for years. Now I haven't for years. Some convenience to live but not much really and some inconvenience to live too, like cooking your hoses if you forget to take it all off the real. My hoses last so much longer and I have them dialed at lengths that suit my most common needs. Both reels are set up for dual wand residential first. 1st hose is 100', 2nd hose is 25', and 3rd is 125' .

100' does 70% of residential and 125' covers the next 20%. Once in a while you have to throw another 125' on the ground but oh well.

I have the same section lengths on my Vacuum Reel. Each person gets 50' 2" lead hose and a 50' and 25' 2.5" hoses. All additional hoses are 50' 2" lengths.
