1% to 2% of us do the third or forth dry pass, pluck or cut the stray yarns, edge with a brush, shave the pills off sides of the sofa cushion, keep trying on stubborn spots, scrap or acid etch grout stains, towel upholstery, clean something for free etc...

98% don't because their either in a rush to do 5 or more a day, they feel cheated by their own prices, they don't give a shit or they just don't see it.

Part of it is age and fatigue I'm sure.

This was a young man's gig when heavy portables and scrubbers pushed a cleaner into hiring technicians to do the work or getting out of it before he was 50.

Truck mounts and glides have cleaners working into their 70s, and I know two guys in their 80s cleaning carpet. But for guys that age to be bending over a lot for detail work or specialty spotting is rarely a realistic expectation.

Its only fair to think that "the spirit is willing but the flesh is weak" by the time those years come around.

Do you were a mask? Wear gloves in their home? Get the vaccine?

Or do you only carpet about their soiled carpet? Not worried about potentially spreading the virus in a Pandemic to your clients, their family and anyone else you have contact with? 😳

Dan had his whole team vaccinated, they wear company colored and screened masks, wear gloves. They called me last month wanting to know if I needed the shot, but I had already got it.

My prehensile tail is growing in quite nicely actually! 🙂

Nope.

Interestingly, Ive had a few tell me about being vaccinated, not going out in public, getting groceries delivered etc and yet they invite me in and decline when I ask if they want to me to mask up as if somehow I'm not to be considered a threat.

not completely

Most don't see it.

The others aren't concerned with being TWGCC massaging individual fiber bundles
There's more than one succe$$ful biz model

The Stan Steemer and Hogopian type outfits of the world offer an ethical and honest "good" service to a large market.

Same for many "middle end" small guys and O/OPs

Chase whatever market fits the biz model.
It's no secret (regardless of the service biz) it's most about how motivated the owner is and whether the custy likes/trusts them or not

How does the old adage go? If you're not part of the solution then you're a fookin mow-ron? Something like that I believe. 😉

J/k But its certainly worth considering and I wouldn't ask, just wear it. You are invading their bubble, don't contaminate it.

If you have been vaccinated I'd certainly tell them. Maybe even update your marketing or create a new piece.

We care about you and your family and only send masked, vaccinated technicians in your home.

I advertise that we wear a mask, have hand sanitizer on the truck, use a disinfectant in their home, etc. Most large companies are advertising that they obey the CDC protocols.

I got out of helping Genny at a lakefront house in St Joe because I refuse to work in a mask.
She was filling in for another company but they liked her work so much they fired the other company.
