I think both. It is a cool business to be in, you can pretty much write your own ticket to whatever level of success depending on how hard you want to work at it.

But there is something rewarding in working the magic of bringing that disgusting, rat-nasty carpet back to life for someone who appreciates it.

There are damn sure easier ways to make money!

Both, I like seeing dramatic results, but if not for the money, I think I do something else.

What? I don't know, I'm basically unemployable!

I like the end result of carpet cleaning.
The reactions etc. This of course includes the money.

I love the business aspect of carpet cleaning.

I really am doing what I enjoy...no, not posting.
I scheduled 3 jobs this morning.

Woo hoo!

But I am always thinking of other ways to make money.

I have to say carpet cleaning....because I'm not making any money. Yet I'm still doing it.

BTW my wife has booked 3 jobs today. Things are looking up for sure.

Look next to your gay porn button Chavez! It's the one you can barely read 'cause the lettering is worn.

I work for a rent to own company by day and I tell you what my dreams would become real if I could clean carpet all day. my job at rent a center sucks because you have to deliver shit where it does not belong and then you gotta fight with people to get it back. not to mention a corpse could be a better manager than the one I work under. maybe one day I will make enough money to leave.....

Both.
I especially like (compared to my 34 years in restaurant mgmt/supervision) when you work extra hours on Saturdays you get paid extra. No more salaries with 65 hours avg work weeks, no more holidays or weekends unless I get paid extra! (34 years of every Mothers day Fathers day 4th of July, Easter Sunday, Valentines day, Christmas Eve, New Years Eve, and every Saturday & Sunday most of those years)

And it is nice to get and recieve compliments from a job well done. I hardly ever recieved a thank you or job well done in the restaurant business. There it's just "what have you done for us today", not all any achievements from the past. I talked with an old friend from previous employer and he told me the new requirment is 55 hours work week on 5 days. If they take off early or have to miss it has to be made up, and 2 weeks out of the month they have either conference calls (in store) or meetings they have to attend on top of the 55 hours. However, this is an improvement for them! They used to have to work 55 hours and 6 days.

Textile cleaning is very rewarding!!! Maybe I appreciate it more because of where I came from. Hard work never bothered me and quite frankley this isn't to hard. Even on a busy day you get a break in between jobs, in the restaurant business there were many days I had to eat when I got home from work or stop by a fast food and grab something because I was starving. Ask me if I miss the restaurant business.
