I think this guy might be new to this. I'm new to cleaning, but know that my marketing materials and theme have changed in the short time I have been doing this. You guys can bash him for his approach. Maybe he has a great product.

I'm interested in this for the extra cash!

I almost bought into a scheme about 10 years ago. It was a liquid fireproofing that could be applied to anything porous. It actually worked pretty well, retarding or even stopping flame travel. I bought a gallon and did some real-time experimenting. The sales pitch was great.....you could offer to new home builders to apply to frame work of homes before finished walls were installed. They also stated that insurance would recognize this product as an added safety factor to combustible products, offering discounts to those who used it. It could also be applied to drapery and fabrics. But rumors came out that the product was causing problems in the wood after all was sealed up.

Now came the sales pitch......you had to buy protected areas, such as whole counties, which was in the $10's of thousands of dollars, and purchase "X" amount of product each year.

I'm glad I never followed through.....


Oh, buy the way......there are just about as many "floor coating" dealers in this area as carpet cleaners.

You've hit a sore point with me. A common failing with many of the rookie hucksters here is the notion that if someone doesn't want your product, they're idiots.

I'll give you the same advice I've given them:
- Only the easily cowed will be convinced to buy from you because you call them stupid, you'll alienate the people that can't stand bully tactics.
- You have to be able to sell your product/service on it's merits, and accept that many people either don't need or don't want it.
- You'll have to accept that many people are smart enough to question you, and they're the ones that actually have a couple of bucks to invest.
- Answer every question or concern professionally and openly and you'll gain some support.


My guess is that Mike is getting a chuckle. A train wreck to sell newspapers.

This idea of garage floor coverings is wild. I know some of you think this guy came on tooo strong, but people are buying.

I have a 3 car garage and used the rustoleum epoxy on one section. Its been down for almost 2 yrs now and looks great. No peeling, no marks, nothing, it has worked out great.

You have a paycheck at the end of the year of $20,000

If you raise your price just 10% you can Quit the first week of September and make the same amount of money.

If I charge 25% more June until the end of the year is MINE!

OR I would ONLY have to sell $44,500 in sales to make the same $20,000!!

Hmmm 40% of the work for the same pay?

What if I Sold the Same # of jobs with 25% more margin. NOW I have $45,000 PROFIT for working the SAME!?!?!

NOW if you had a "Team" backing you up, Keeping you on track, There to call when you get in trouble and need help. That's worth something isn't it?
