For those that run hot, are you experiencing shortened seal life?
and are you sure it is caused by the heat rather than that acid rinse?

Cold. Right from the water box to the pump. Then to the HX's for heating.

2 Blower HX's to about 150, into the water box, then to the catalytic HX to 250 steady.

Last step chem after, nothing but water goes through my rig.

Then again, I have a 20 year old unit.

I think the heat does couse premature wear. Had a Powermatic with a 5CP, it has 8,000HRS. The Vortex pumps both had to be rebuilt at about 4,000HRS.

Most of the hot water problems I've seen are amplified if you run chemical through the pump along with the hot water. Check your pump specifications and see what its rated for. Most are rated for 200 or less. The ones that are rated higher are usually more expensive and require more maintenance.

To answer your original question, it depends on how hot you're making the water.
