No, we rely on the Air Force. Not totally, but to a large degree. Montgomery’s Democratic controlled school system is so poorly managed that the Air Force is concerned about keeping their base here.

My kids or grandkids will eventually have to move north.

Tourism is a big part of my town. They just upgraded the train station to make it more friendly to those kind of tourists. Several small movies have been made here as well, so they depend on that kind of tourism.

I don't see mean ol' Rona having much of a dent on our economy here. Most of the city folk leave the Masked Rona cities to enjoy these small towns

The moves from our military base have been shockingly low since February

Officers aren’t moving their families with them to here because the education system is so poor. The only thing they learn is how to milk the system and load a gun.

No. The chicken plant and the county are the biggest employers. They just built a "Welcome Center" in town which I just don't understand. I guess they want to welcome all the people moving here from New Jersey.

Down in the seasonal town of Falmouth MA Cape Cod where we have our beach house the businesses got slaughtered this summer... down over 50%

the contractors are slamming busy but the locals are feeling the pain

maybe they won’t perceive us as an annoyance next season if this Covid BS is over by then…

It's a long weekend here, odd to see so many holiday homes and boats being used when it's not christmas/new year

People traveled to the Cape , but the Governors restrictions of closing beach parking and restaurant limits hit the tourist industry hard

affluent people adapt

We don't rely on tourism but we are a small college town of around 35k. Most of the college students are doing virtual learning so instead of moving back to town after the summer break, many stayed in their hometowns / with their parents. Only about 5% of those that attend the university are from the area. The restaurants are hurting and of course, the bars since you can't drink past 10 PM. Normally 10 PM is just when the bars would get busy until the last call at 2 AM. The restaurants that have stayed busy lost their labor with the college kids not coming back.

All the campsites and lakes and hiking trails in the Eastern Sierra saw record numbers times 10 this summer.. People didn't want to get on planes, trains and automobiles so Californians from the coast saw Yosemite and Mono Lake for the first time in their lives

We are in a wealthy resort area and all the Chicagoans who have lake homes are moving here permanently. Business has been good this summer. No plans to change anything.

Vancouver gets the gorbies year round. You can ski, play golf and fish pretty much year round. To ski in the summer you gotta go to whistler.. There's 3 ski hills within a half hour of my house. With the border closed tighter than a gnats ass it's way off this year.

We rely heavily on tourism. We are mandatory masks and most places are reservations only. There's still some speculation if the ski mountain will be able to open, but I've heard that they are putting in some new measures as well if they are allowed to open. If the mountain isn't allowed to open it will be devastating to our town.

Used to be a big part of the Seattle economy. Still big only if you count the number of drug addicts that have come here for a soft landing spot. The addicts killed tourism, the COVID shut down was the just the final nail.

Latest tally: According to the Seattle Times, as of last week there are 335 street level businesses that have closed or moved out of town that the owners say will not reopen in Seattle.
