you schedule half the day for one job and you show up at the gate and the guard says she's sorry but she forgot can we move it to another day. Please don't be mad. I did call her cell the night before and left a message to remind her. She said she was to busy to check her messages.
Just venting.

I always have a plan B project. Apartment list or maintenance projects to fill gaps in the schedule. For example, next up is putting better carry handles on 3 of the buffers, and then detailing each of them.

Maybe I'm too easy going...but just enjoy the day.

We had a commercial job Saturday that the contact person forgot about or over slept.

This morning we were to pick up air scrubbers at a mold job so it could be tested tomorrow. Lockbox on it and now we have to track down the builder or property manager. We don't know who's box it is. :dejection:

Monday half of the mold crew that was headed out of town an hour away were supposed to be here at 7:00, over slept or forgot about an early start. So we send 3-techs to a job when 6 should have went. So not only do our clients have problems remembering us...so do our tech's. :errf:

Just last Saturday morning... Driving an hour and a half and picking up a helper and unloading dwellpro and rotovac etc and loading up two Cimexes for a nice commercial account. Finally we get there waited and hour with everything unloaded from the van to the door of the building... And nobody showed up nor did they answer the phone. We have been doing that lawyer's firm for about 15 years..(insert Toburen saying "we would already have the keys...etc etc... Sorry Steve: one of the most elite attorney company in the San Diego area- we will never have the key to their buildings. Way too many sensitive information laying around)

I'm with Lee and Ofer on this one... But we take a $30 deposit during the booking, which they lose if they no show or cancel within 48 hours of start time. $30 isn't much but it pays for the beer:very_drunk:

Even non fittle boogers?

Haha-- even non fittle boogers get charged a deposit.

we dont currently take a deposit on commercial jobs, rugs cleaned in plant- or a very few VIPs.

I think the airlines paved the way for us to be able to charge a deposit without too much push back-- when u went to get your broading pass for the trip to the convention did you notice the airlines tried about 4-5 different ways to get More money from You!? -
So collecting a deposit is bearable in comparison.

A dog made a mess and we went immediately. He tipped well for the speedy service and then the rest of the day started. It's wasn't the end of the world. I like staying busy and I love a tight schedule. Just how I'm built.

All I can say is, if it's a girl tiger...........

We make it a habit to call 30 mins prior to the job to make sure we're still a go for the time.... If it's farther away from the shop, the more we stress it.... I hate donkey runs.....
