We are looking for a building and found one that almost perfectly meets our needs. The problem is that it's on a septic system and well.

Does anyone have experience with septic systems and draining 300-400 gallons or more of waste water per day?

Also, any issues that you know of using softened and filtered well water?

It's for Hagopian.

We are looking for some opportunities outside our current market. We do run Butler's with the large waste tanks and I am concerned that draining 3-4 of those at the end of a day would overtax a septic system.

I heard the rush of water will cause the solids to overflow out of the holding tank and into the leach field clogging shit up !! So the answer will be no dumping large amounts of water !!

We have septic here at home. Yep straight from the SHITTER to the yard. We spread our shit all over the yard. ;)

I think that's too much flow, no time digest. I wonder if you could extend the lateral field?

most residential septic systems are 1000 gallons, but they are usually 90 pecent full at all times, so if you try to drain that much water you will damage your leech bed as the hydraulic pressure will either find a way out onto the surface of your yard, or you will as described below flush solids into your leech field causing problems. And if you run any biocides like sanitizers etc. you will be pumping the tank alot due to back ups.

Mike, that is my concern too.

I was wondering if anyone else had actual experience using a septic system to drain.
did it a few times, had to pump out the tank, and restart the system, along with using a monthly septic system maintainer (not rid x), i use the zep brand maintainer, that you just flush the packet.

another part you want to be wary of is, the lint, and carpet fibers will clog up your system.

too bad you couldnt build some kind of holding tank system, and then make a deal with a local septic shit pumper to come collect it once a week for xx $$

You could water lawns through the day then pump out when you get back to the shop via sprinkler system .. although some of yous use some pretty toxic stuff !! That should really be running through a sewer system for a cleaning !! Otherwise our ground water absorbs it !!

if you use microban sanitizer, or any other sanitizers it will kill the beneficial bacteria and fungi in your lawn and eventually kill it. But if your not, expect to mow alot.
