Dry compound first time

First time using dry compound, it was the austrian crb compound. Carpet was commercial olefin, bombed out and really in need of replacing. I was surprised at how effective it was. Sprayed down a light mist of peroxicap from groom solutions prior to spreading out compound. Maybe I spread too much but I spent more time vacuuming up compound around edges than I did with the crb, stuff seemed to get everywhere and I am pretty sure I missed some. Not to mention the time it took to clean up CRB. All in all, happy with results given the condition of carpet, smelled great but don't think I will make this an option unless they can not have any down time. Anyone use this stuff effectively in combo with other VLM?

Agree, keen to try it out on some wood floors but not if its going to be anywhere near as messy. Can't imagine what it would do with the gaps between hardwood.

The dry compound has its place. You may have a hundred sq. ft. of carpet in a building that needs a little more than encapsulation, where it is useful. Remember Host where you used the compound everywhere. The combination of encapsulation with soiled areas use the compound is a great step forward in efficiency from Host. I have used on area rugs and would be easier to clean a bleeder (with dye stability as its only issue).

We cleaned a library where they wouldn't even allow low moisture cleaning. We cleaned it with CRB and dry compound and everyone was happy.

It wasn't impressive, smelled good for a day but it was what the wanted. 🤷‍♂️

I/we use it on rugs or ultra fancy wall to wall that will shrink/buckle or bleed if water is used.

and on wood that can't take moisture of any kind.

All of these are situations that should be charged accordingly, which is enough to put up with the clean up.

Less is more is often the case.

I would have OP'd the carpet in the photo

Moving forward I will reserve it for those situations listed, it would come in handy for those 100sqf sections that need just a little more, maybe as giving a little extra on commercial encap jobs I could use it to freshen up their logo entry mats too with it, would definitely make them pop.

By the way, I’m just now down reading about Paula having Covid. I’m trying to get past Steve, but I’m mired up in dry compound!
😮 Missed that!

Oh man, my wife had it too. She was sick as a dog for 3-weeks. All she would do is sleep.

She didn't feel normal for another month, just weak and tired easily.

Good luck! Hopefully she isn't as bad.

I tried it once and it was also a huge mess lol, I think we used way too much. There are 2 pretty successful companies I know of though that have very good reviews and all they do it CRB compound residential. By successful I dont mean 30 trucks but more like $500k+ gross and the owner is not at all involved in the operation.
