Dry Strokes, are they necessary?

Keith, you're right, a moisture probe will tell the exact dryness, but if I feel the carpet and it does not "feel" wet on the top as I wiggle my fingers down between the fibers, wouldn't total dryness not be far behind?

The problem with testing is the test itself affects the outcome.

Especially when there is not a great way to test "how wet" the carpet is when done.

Depends on indoor humidity levels temps and air movement.

These increase dry times:
Larger blower. 4.5-4.7
Larger engine 30-40hp minimum
Proper continuous heat( fuel heat is best)
Zipper wand: at least 20-30% increase in drying
Cut out the microfiber filter and use the external filter only
Also a kunkle valve can help
Also seems like some acid rinses seem to dry faster than alcaline rinse.....ex.- flex ice......

Yes, So there I was happily speeding along doing the squirt and suck, as I was taught by the man who previously owned my company.

I met Art Kelly in 2008, he introduced me to Mikey's Board, and I have been dry strokin ever since. MB ruined me forever.

With or without his shirt on?!?

Does a kunkle valve make a noticable difference over regular VR valve

Kunkle valve helps maybe 10 %...._all those listed helps, but can't get around a bigger engine and bigger blower.
I have 2 truckmounts 33 hp with 4.5 blower, and a 30 hp w 4.5 blower and kunkle valve.
The 33 hp has better vacuum.
Easiest cheapest way to boost vacuum is to get rid of the microfiber filter and use the external filter only.
This will boost vacuum maybe 10-15%.

I think Marcus was saying that knuckle Heads, clean better.
Which of course makes sense, due to single mindedness.

Kunkle valves are what the Masterblend El Diablo uses to regulate the vacuum pressure. I don't know of any other machines that use the kunkle valve, Masterblend owns the patent on the valve, but you can retrofit any waste tank to use one. No idea what a microfiber filter is. By the way that he words the response I wonder if it is the blower filter inside the waste tank?

Either way, you need a larger motor like a 30hp or 33hp or bigger to run a 4.5 blower..........:eekk:

Yea the micro filter inside the waste tank it will increase vacuum.
Kunkle valve opens late???....some how as it was explained to me, but it does increase vacuum.
Got it from steambrite in San Antonio, cost maybe 200$?????
All these valves, 2 1/2 hoses, filters..... Will still never substitute for a larger engine and blower.
Also the zipper has helped dry time more than valves, hoses, filter.......
No shortcuts gotta pay for better dry time.
