Doesn't citric acid cause very fast re-soiling?

Citric acid is hydrophilic, that is it attract moisture from the air. In theory, this leads to rapid resoiling as the "wet" spot in the carpet would attract soil. However, small amounts of citric acid, when properly rinsed out, leave such minimal residue that it would be difficult to detect any resoiling difference.

Originally citric acid was the "solution" to BHT yellowing on synthetic carpet.
It seemed though that once the citric acid was rinsed the yellowing came back and if it wasn't rinsed it looked like hell in a pretty short time.

Never tried it like that before Scott. Did anybody else do?

After application, what do you rinse it with?
Did the yellow come back after the through rinse?
Did it cause fast re-soiling?
