We buy them in bulk and they have a few in their PPE bags.

Ear protection isn't used as much as other PPE here. I buy quite a few N-95's & P100 cartridges along with dozens of boxes of tyveks, gloves.

I buy these by the 100s
18 cents ea.... reusable and cleanable

foam type like 3m are the best

BUTT.... rubber flange type are quicker (no waiting for foam to fully expand)
and easier for folks to get in right (lot of folks don't get the foam ones in right, believe it or not)

string mount is also a must when going to and from noisy/non noisy environments regular.
On string around your neck, you're more likely to plug 'em in while fetching a tool or spotter on running truck compared to foam ones you took out and put in your back pocket when inside the joint working

Mike, if you want disposable ear plugs, get 3M 1100. Working in construction, I tried everything. The 3M 1100 ones are the best.... and judging by your hearing, you need them.... or, get customs made up... they are made of silicon, custom made just for your ears.... YA HEAR ME?.....

I use two spent cartridges at the range. Lets you hear voices, but attenuates sharp sounds like gunfire.

Plus they are butch. I know that matters to some of you.

You realize you said that on a board where we brag about our leather shoes and orange guns.

You can buy ear molds for yourself. You can have em made by the nearest audiologist. Swimmers do it all the time. As long as you dont lose em, they can last you a long time for any condition. My wife still has hers after 4 years. Easy to clean too. What fred suggest is good option. I still wear ear plug for my left ear despite it being 100% useless, the pressure still hurt me and will disorient me.
