It's official, Evan has left ICS magazine and had out of the industry.
Evan certainly played a huge part in the development of our bulletin boards and if it were not for his iron hand there would be no MB.
Evan pretty much despised me so I'll let others here reflect on fond memories of his place in this cleaning and restoration world.

I'm am proud to say he attended a party at my home and used my toilet.

Almost as good as Elvis.

Did I ever tell you guy that Charlton Heston used the toilet at my my cabin?

Evan,Rawknee, my Wife and me got a thrill ride through St Louis with Evan at the wheel. We were at Summerfest and heading to dinner. His experience with LA driving was commendable. He was looking sideways and in the back seat 90% of the drive as we chatted. It was his "everyday" commute experience, he said.

Wow Evan just bought me dinner last week. While Evan did not get along with everyone he loved this industry. I am always sad to see a veteran leave our industry. After all it is the different personalities that give our industry its distinct characteristics (or dysfunctions.)

Hopefully he finds a career quickly.

Evan may not have the best relationship with Mike (to put it mildly) or many of the founding fathers here on MB, but if you look at it in a larger way, he played an important part of the "Bulletin Board Era" of the cleaning industry. The ICS bulletin board was once a place where there was an active exchange of ideas and disputes, and along with Cleanfax and a few other bulletin boards, it changed the way we communicate in our industry.

Ultimately, Mikeysboard would not exist if he had allowed Mike and a few other of our more colorful friends here a free ride in their expressions on the ICS board. Whether or not you think how Evan enforced the rules at the ICS Bulletin Board was right or fair, the result was this community came to be.

I will say that, despite my loyalty to Mike and decision to support his dream when he started Mikeysboard, Evan treated me with respect, and twice when I needed his help at a professional level, he dealt with me with generosity and courtesy.

I wish Evan well.

I agree he always treated me well. I only received one email from him, when I asked why Jimmy wasn't given another chance on ICS. :biggrin:

In it's hey day, ICS was the place to be. Right up until Mike started MB and as much as I love MB it was sad to see ICS fall to all the pitch men and hucksters all mining the miners......what a sad painful death!

Didn't know him, i stayed out of the drama back then. Should go back to that policy ....

Seems like this industry is in the middle of some kind of big change, maybe its a generational thing?
The magazines, forums, trade shows, gurus, seems like the wild west right now.

If you look at his long career at ICS from photographer to editor . . .

I think you would see he had many accomplishments for the cleaning industry.

No, I was never banned there. I just slowly grew tired of the place; however, Evan was extremely sensitive and called me over the phone once to tell me I was an anti-Semite. Which was a total fabrication. I realized then that he had some demons he was dealing with that made him the way he was.

But, if my people had faced the persecution his has, I'd probably be sensitive too.
