I have to bid on 2000 sq ft of fabric panel walls in a conference room. They are worried that I
will remove the fire proofing on the fabric. Is there a way to clean them with out removing it or
do I have to reapply a retardant after cleaning.
Thank You for any ideas. Luis

Chances are if they need cleaning, the fire proofing is gone anyways. Fire retardants according to each site I found should be reapplied after washing so they can leave the panels dirty but probably in need of a new fire retardent treatment anyways and leave the dirt to contaminate the indoor air quality or.. clean and reprotect them.

From my understanding regarding fire protectant, you have to be certified for it. My pops friend Al Casas of Bobcat carpet & fabric care in LA does that type of work. He broke it down for me. The dude has some serious business.

You do need to have certain credentials to issue them their certificate that gets shown to a Fire Marshall. I did this type of work for years, as does Al, but it's been several years (04).
