which would be the best fabric protector for natural fibers? Water-based or solvent(with a nap to the fiber) I've been using water based from Maxim and had decent results, was wondering if there was a better product out there?

I would say solvent-based to minimize any water-based problems (bleeding, shrinkage, browning).

And provide the best oil & water protection.

Natural fibers are very absorbent. They benefit from the protection of Maxim Advanced against stains from food dyes and food coloring that are difficult to remove from natural fibers.

Solvents bring in health and safety issues and are thus regulated in many states.
