Seems like we always come back to - getting the carpet to dry fast. Im looking at alot of different wands out there and most of them allow the steam to fill the air with hot moisture (humidity). If we can trap the moisture or keep it on the carpet, it would free up more dry air space to absorb the rising moisture (coming off the carpet).
I did have a closed head wand years ago but it weighed so much I stopped using it. Be nice to retro fit some kind of lightweight guide/flap to hang from the tube down to the carpet enclosing or blocking the jets spray/steam escape route.
If the buildings ventilation system didnt have to take the time to evaporate the initial air saturation, it could get right to evaporating the carpets rising moisture. Resulting in faster drying carpets.
