Only to learn I had it in the first place. Ugh.....
One of my monthly restaurant accounts got new carpet recently and I've been having one hell of a time cleaning it. Tried everything and it just looked spotty and nowhere near to my satisfaction. Tried playing with different tools, different pre sprays and nothing was working as well as I wanted it to.
Today, we cleaned the restaurant and it cleaned up like new. I'm wracking my brain trying to figure out why the hell I couldn't get it this clean so easily the few times prior, wondering what the heck I did differently today. Then it hit me like a ton of bricks.
The same month they changed their carpets I bought a new rinse to try. I ran out last week and got the rinse I had been using for a long time. The difference was unbelievable, it has to be the cause.
I'm so mad at myself for not realizing before that it was possibly the issue...I should've known this! I could be a baby and blame it on stress but I won't go that route lol....it was just a dumbass move!
Matrix All Fiber Rinse....I shall never cheat on you again!

What else could it possibly be Mike? It is literally the only thing I did differently.
I had tried that Chemspec Optimal Rinse and that's what I ran out of. It's almost the exact same PH as the Matrix All Fiber which is 4 and the Optimal is 4.5.
So I'm not sure why it would be so different but the difference is undeniable.

I love the Pink zipper, How much did you pay for it?
It's a 13 inch which costs $2200. And if you order the mounting plate I believe that was $99....can't remember for sure but it is well worth it. Extremely well built! And cleans like you wouldn't believe!
This restaurant was flushed at 600 PSI and the first half was almost completely dry by the time we left.

New carpet can have oils in it that are extremely hard to remove especially when they are only down a short time.

Ive had similar experience without changing products. First time was hell but after that no problem.

I could see a strong emulsifier making a difference, but not an acid rinse

Mike,
It shouldn't but every job is different. Normally I recommend AFR for slightly soiled residential for the benefits of neutralizing, brightening, and less residue. If it is working for Kellie I am very happy.
Which is exactly why I thought I would try a different rinse. If it ain't broke don't fix it I guess lol. I've been cleaning this restaurant for years and it has always cleaned up easily and very nicely. It was never this dirty because I always made sure to really flush it out good so quick re soiling was a non issue.
They had their floors trenched out for some new plumbing and got this new carpet. That is when my troubles began, I thought it was the type of carpet and left frustrated the last 3 times cleaning both of the restaurants. Tried different thing except for changing out my rinse, because I had stocked up with this other stuff.
I know it wasn't my equipment because as most of you know, I had everything maintained and dialed in by Rich a few months back and I was regularly checking everything.
I guess as Mr. Head on said...every job is different. I'm curious to see how the next one cleans up in two weeks.

Next time try a high ph powder like boosted with a liquid D'Limonene /Citrus booster and scrub with a fresh rad pad under a 175 or a RV with a driver. Zipper it with ANY rinse and you'll be blown away...

you could water rinse and be impressed but the left over orange juice will attract soil

Hey! My feet are huge! :dejection: Size 11 women's! Lol!

I used Flex with citrus. And Marty is correct....I am woman, which means I am always right or at least want to hear that I am! Hahaha!

Seriously though...is it possible that some rinses just don't work well with certain pre sprays?

I did not even have to use the brush head or agitate this time and it passed the white towel test and I scrubbed it with the towel too.
