Weight will always help. As I understand it, the current Vibe weight kit is one block, not separate plates, correct? If the the latter, use two plates per side.

Also, in commercial I like using fiber and microfiber. I'd rather use the cotton in residential (if you dare) or for places that really need to the soil lift.

Finally had a chance to break out the VIBE on a banquet hall.

Pretty impressed for the most part with both the machine and with the overall results of my first major Encap/Padcap job..

Machine is buttery smooth and was a breeze to work with.

Only feature that bugged me was the twist on tank lid which was a little hard to remove at times due to it's lack of surface that offers a solid gripping point, especially when a little wet.

Easy fix for any Magyver.

Results were on par with the results from a previous HWE on the same hall.

Overall time was reduced by almost 1/3 compared to HWE, and a lot less physically demanding than slinging a porty, a wand and a 175.

Everything was pretreated with my IPS using AwesomeEncap @4oz/G on half the room and Environ HP @4oz/G on the other half and then scrubbed with Agiclean pads, and then followed it up with SuperZorbs, both passes using the on-board sprayer system and half an overlap.

I did not use any weights, but I think it would have benefited me if I slapped on another 20LBS.

There were many spots and areas that did not respond well enough with passes from the unweighted head, but that I was able to improve with passes made while pushing the handle upwards to transfer some of the weight load from the wheels to the head and grind into them a little harder.

We did 2/3 of the place yesterday and finished up the last part today, and immediately was reminded of how important THOROUGH pre-vacuuming is when using anything other than HWE.

With no wand to suck up anything missed vaccuming, especially along the corners, a lot more time must be set aside to carefully vacuum each section before it is sprayed down and it is too late, because that will be the only chance to do it.

So the whole area had to be vacuumed again with a lot more attention to detail......Lesson learned.

I think a small powerful shop-vac would probably be a good idea on big commercial jobs as well as an upright, especially for corners and along walls when you don't have the luxury of taking care of them with your wand.

Even got Nate's favorite lil' Oreck some stair action.

Funny you mentioned that.....I have not unwrapped the weights yet, but I was looking on their site and it is not really clear, so I was wondering that myself.

Anybody use them yet.

I think an additional 20 lbs would have helped on this job, but 40 lbs seems too much.

Hi Kevin,

I'm sure you had gotten the email from me a couple of weeks back. Feel free to give AE a try or not. I understand that you're conscious of shipping costs and we are of considerable distance from you.

The other products you're using are all great. Stick with the one you feel gives the best cleaning and long term results.

So Frank, which chem do you think did better, the awesome encap or the orbot environ chem?

I've been debating on weather or not to try the awesome encap

I currently have and been using encap chems from Vacaway, bonnet pro and the Releasit chems
which are all very good

So unless this awesome encap is a lot better then any of them I see no reason to carry it as well

I don't even wanna carry all three of the ones i mentioned above but am having a hard time deciding which to cut as i like them all

By the way i have the Vibe to and love that thing so far

I don't know. My hunch is that this is a chrystallizing version of Grease Hawg which is a high pH film foamer. Perhaps more of an improvement than revolutionary.

Why didn't VacAway come out with years ago?

I get suspicious when chem companies come out with something revolutionary every six months

Yes I had received your email and I would like to thank you for your willingness to work with me so that I could try the AE, I do now realize that yes we are of considerable distance from each other and nothing can be done about that but you still tried to accommodate me, so Thank you.

They are 2 plates. Each weighs 20 lbs.

I have to get a better look at them.

Looks like each set is composed of several individual plates held together with bolts.

Maybe the plates can be separated so they could be used in smaller weight increments.

Orbot doesn't recommend using the weights on carpet, only hard surfaces... I tend to follow the rules...:winky:

Of course they don't.

Lessens their potential liability to any damage caused by a flock of crazed janitors who are too ignorant to know when they should be used and when they should not.

I may be a crazed janitor, but i ain't be ignorant.......Aby-normal, maybe.

Looks like the individual weights are easily separated since it looks like it is just a bolt and lock washer holding the sets together.

I'm thinking they may have to be rattle-proofed if used individually.
