Used it today on 6 dr chairs, 4 wing backs and two sectionals with over 50 loose cushions. Many peices were not pre-treated, just rinsed with ICE.

yeah it does smell weird, maybe Scott warrington can make a suggestion for a scented version, like strawberry, lemon grass, or mint.

I've used it on a wide variety of upholstery fabrics.

You still need to test for colorfastness; at its pH this product will not stabilize dyes as well as a true acid rinse, such as Fabset or All Fiber Rinse.

My understanding about the odor issue is that incorporating a deodorizer into that formula will cause it to harden. I'd rather Scott Warrington speak to the formulation though.

i have not used it on fabric yet, i like fab set for natural fibers. synthetic i use clean free.

What about adding a masking deodorizer to it after its mixed in the rinse jug? I was told by my Interlink sales rep to try that, so I did but maybe I didn't add enough because it did not help. And will that change the chemistry of it?

i was told to wait to see what scott warrington says about that. as it may affect the chemistry/ph of it.

I think I read a while back that ScottW did say to just add some deodorizer to the rinse

Not specifically formulated for upholstery but should do fine on upholstery. I only know of a few who have actually tried it, but they liked the results.

Yes, adding more liquid to the powder encoruaged clumping. But you can add deodorizer to the 5 gallon head back or fresh water tank. I think about 1 ounce of a good deodrizer for every 8 ounces of Flex Ice will do fine. I like Apple Air as added to the rinse.

I don't have a good nose and the smell does not bother me. But my wife has olfactory superiority. She does not care for the smell when smelling the mixed head pack. But inside the home when used as a rinse and the fragrance of a prespray also in the air along with whatever smells in the household, she does not notice the Flex Ice.

Lol...I thought you were saying you couldn't add some kind of powder deodorant to the product when making it.
But I definitely did not put enough deodorizer in the rinse jug so I will give it another go with more next time.

1 ounce of deodorizer for every 8 ounces of Flex Ice powder. So for most folks who use 2 or 3 cups of Flex Ice in a 5 gallon headpack, it would be 2 or 3 ounces of deodorizer.

This amount is not meant to provide a fragrance, but rather be just enough to counter any odor of the Flex Ice, net zero. If you want a particluar fragrance to remian after cleaning you could add more. Better yet, is to add a fragrance to the prespray. This way it gets into the air and any in the carpet gets rinsed out. Deodorizers tend to be resoilers. Or simply spray something in the room when finished cleaning.

I add it to my fresh water tank and can see its cleaning out crud already. The water in the tank changes color from what's bypassing. The first time the water needed dumped but the last time almost no change.

I was a fresh water guy. Started using flex ice and I can tell a huge difference.
