After visiting countless 1800's miner's cabins, hotels, brothers and churches this past week, I think my next floor selection will be repurposed wood planks with hugh gaps that let all the dirt, hair and gold nuggets fall into the crawl space.

Or LVP with a photo of said gaps.

What's your next floor?

My summer home was built in 1950

when we gutted it , we installed LVP right over the original wood floors

LVP. The laminate that was installed in my home in the early 2000's is about shot. I put LVP in my wife's craft room a couple of months ago and I really like it.

I put LVP in my kitchen about 6 months ago and so far we love it. With 2 big dogs, we were worried about scratches with a traditional wood floor. Also, the home is older and the floors are a bit too "bouncy" for tile and grout. We needed something that was scratch resistant, a bit flexible and looked good. LVT/LVP did all that.

I still like/have carpet in my family room, master bedroom and upstairs. My engineered hardwood in my main level will get replaced at some point, probably with more hardwood

For me its only the real wood. The kind with the grain all the way through. You can sand it down and refinish. No LVT for me. To many lies and issues. They say they don’t scratch, bull puckey. They UV fade, computer generated design. Nope, give me the real deal.

It’s almost as if you people don’t derive your income from people who haven’t gone hard surface.

I’d at least promote the tile that looks similar to wood...

There’s some grout to be cleaned there.

If I could sleep during the day, I’d go commercial and not worry about it.
