I had a couple of jobs over the last 2 weeks that had insane amount of foam all over the carpet because of the customers high powered rug shampoo machine. I use an acid rinse, is there anti foam that can be sprayed on the carpet through a pump up sprayer?

Few years ago I was told that you cant spray the liquid defoamer on the carpet for some reason, cant remember the reason. Not even sure if it is true.

powdered defoamer, Brent.

some guys sprinkle it around.
We dump little piles in the room instead

Defoamers have no foam/soap residue rinsing capacity, but they are an effective/essential aid..
cause defoarmer clears the hoses of foam that restricts airflow.
Better airflow = better solution recovery

I'd recommend using a detergent free product next time you clean it. You don't need to add more foam to the mix.

Then cast some defoamer over the top after you've presprayed. Then extract, with more detergent free cleaner.

I like DFC from Chemspec (aka planet guard from jon don - which is a whole lot cheaper)
