For those of you contract/purchase order suppliers (fed gov)

We do some work for a defense contractor the last 3 years. Each Jan. they renew the purchase order for a set amount for 2 cleanings every 6 months. We typically do the last of these two in Oct. They have been putting me off for two months.

Just got word today that they lost their contract that supports this location. So, they don't want to clean the carpets. I still have a PO with 50% being owed and the pricing was based on continual maintenance. Are they still "entitled" to have the carpets cleaned? The new facilities guy is hard to talk with because he travels between 5 locations in 5 states. I'm just curious if I can force the issue with an outstanding PO and money still owed.

Obviously they are a multi-billion dollar company, so I cannot do anything other than try to press the issue with their purchasing department.

You probably need to talk to the contracting offcer.

Unlikely if you do not do the work, they can adjust services whenever they want.
