I have started making some and my intended audience is google and customers. NOT other carpet cleaners. I was impressed by the Dirt Army guys website that had youtube videos on it. Scared to dedicate a page to my website though...heard that the video's are heavy and could slow down my site. Speed is a factor for google (is a way to compress them just not sure how.
Currently trying to learn how to optimize youtube video's. And last but not least having videos may make my job easier when closing a customer. It would be great reference point for customers as well.
If the vids are hosted on youtubes no speed worries really.
Self hosted you would have a player of some sort so speed shouldn't be an issue because the "initial load" is minimal when done properly. The whole file isn't being presented.
I make videos for other niches.........my audience is people that click on the ads .....still I try to make them helpful to all viewers
My youtube videos are available for people to see how the process works (tile and grout cleaning) Many people (potential clients) have no idea, and I try to show differences between before and after results as well as different materials serviced. I am not looking to making any money either off my videos(except to gain views @ my website), even though I was approached by Miss Universe and Oscar-Grammy Award Upper Echelon to become their new spokesperson. I declined. Here's my youtube video subscription video channel...
