I'm on my third Hudson valve on the Vortex..

$38 each over ten years is nothing to cry about but would like something that can take the heat better.

A swing arm type valve wont live long as there are no walls or supports to keep it from bouncing all over the place.

1 inch pipe inlet from the side...

I have a holder for my float. It prevents it from bouncing up and down. It holds it just below the full mark.
Has worked so far. I also took the plastic arm that was breaking and made a new one out of aluminum. The holes that the stainless cotter pin runs through are getting bigger and it will eventually fail but it has already lasted 4 times longer. I have a Hudson but never bothered to run the extra plumbing to make it work. It did fail today but I haven't looked. The float might have just come off.

Can't believe that the float broke after just talking about it. The little ear broke off. Time to plumb in the Hudson
