Since I've moved here to Utah I worry a lot less than I use to in Ohio. Though I know there are idiots/wanna-be thugs everywhere. I remember driving the van down some parts of Toledo, and watching people get shot point blank. There's only one city here in Utah that bugs me late at night, and thats a few parts of Ogden.

I have a S&W .38 special for one purse and a Ruger LCP.380 for my other purse, I've had my CCP for a year now. Both have Crimson Trace sights on them. I figure the CT will provide one of two things...might make them think twice, but if they as much as twitch...I know my aim will be dead on.

And if they get it away from me...I'd rather be dead than raped. There are worse things than dieing...

Oh, and Marty...guns aren't a macho thing at all! I love 'em, my daddy bought me my first, and I own a LOT of them! :)

Intoduce him to my little friend the boot knife. If the feeling of cold steel against his throat doesn't wake him into reality, a strategic slice will.

and no Thang you ain't getting it away from me without gaining a scratch or two! :p

If that doesn't do it, cut the fookers heart out and eat it right in front of him.

I carry one of these around my neck, the way it hangs I can have it out almost instantly. Its so slim even if your looking for it you can't notice it. I have had one girl ask me to show her my "necklace" I just declined and confused her
That's cool Ryan, I like it!

.......................................................................................................

My daughter is very proficient with any hand gun.
I'm no slouch either and have had and continue with professional tactical training.
I also practice presentation drills (drawing from the holster) live fire drills regularly.
I shoot informal USPSA competitions .
I'm a pretty fair pistolero...
I told you all that cause I want to reinforce my earlier point.

A gun won't protect you if some thug walks up behind you and hits you in the side of the head with a lead pipe while you're cleaning.
The most important thing we carry to defend ourselves is right between the our ears.
Use your brain and stay aware.
There's lots and lots of "little things" that add up to not becoming a victim.

side note for you wimmins that carry in your purse, if you carry it like most wimmins, it wouldn't be too difficult for some crackhEd to yank it off your shoulder and beat feet down the street or across the mall parking lot.

be aware and you tremendously decrease the odds of ever becoming a victim

It will only take 1 or 2 bullets then I'll have your shiny sharp BLADE. 8)

google the "21 foot rule", Jeff.

an armed assailant that knows how to use an edged weapon can be on you in a matter of seconds.
Faster than than the average conceal carry citizen can draw and shoot.

at about 45 seconds in you'll see how fast a thug can be on you

WOW, its almost surreal reading this thread from my Canadian vantage point.
The only people with hand guns here are cops and criminals.

He had an IPOD on(???) with his back to the door and just kept cleaning until they got mad and hit him in the head. He is ok now but shaken up.

tell me how if this guy had a gun how would that have helped him?

Not only will you learn a lot, but it's BIG FUN too!!
I'm doing an 2 day advanced tac coarse this August
Combined pistol, shotgun and AR-15.
Each individual will shoot appx 1500 rounds that weekend ...
If THAT don't sound like fun, I donno what does...

Great choice.
Glock is an excellent pistol.
Simple and reliable
I've owned 5 or 6 of them
