Fuel pump question....... Need info fast

Can the electric fuel pump that supplies gas from the van tank to the motor on a slide in be replaced with any 12v fuel pump from an auto store or are they to big?

That's what I'm looking at getting from advanced auto. Took this slide-in to its first job and the pump can't keep up with demand

Proper pressure is 2 to 2.5 PSI. .

They seem to change these pressures all the time.
That old picture of the 42S says 4 psi max and now the new ones have a rating of 2-3.5 psi on it now.
The one you have on your website (facet 40104) with a 2 psi rating is now actually rated 1.5-4.0

Either way probably anything 4 or under would be OK
Just don't jump to the next size 4-7

i would not recommend that particular fuel pump. I've had 2 premature failures with it. It does come in a 2 PSI version.

You can also buy an adjustable fuel pressure regulator if your existing fuel pump is 5 PSI or greater.

Go to NAPA and get a better fuel pump.

The pump thats on it now wont even fill the filter with gas. The filter is never more than half full of gas and when the machine is running wide open it cant keep up.
