What would be the best way to get indentation out of dense nylon carpet , left by heavy table .

Steamers have worked the best for me.. They will distort some poly's though.

Wet the spot out with your wand with vacuum hose disconnected get it pretty wet clean the room and when you get to the indentations do a chop stroke over the area making sure you get it as hot as possible with steam and also as dry as possible when you are done . Tell your client that it may take some time for the carpet and pad to come back. If the item was really heavy it may never and may have damaged the backing and pad. Steam works for lightly crushed but for pool table or piano legs it's never worked as well as the above described procedure.

Steam with a vapor steamer to relax the backing and use the end of the vac hose to pull it up

DENSE Nylon Carpet + heavy table over a long period of time may have affected the fibers "tension memory", where it has collapsed.

Temporary measures such as steaming or even the use of ice, is, temporary.

As soon as someone steps on that area, the fibers usually collapse once more to their previous crushed state.

Bonded insert (if possible) for me, is the only practical solution.
