So I bought the Rotovac 360i 3 metal swoop brush head... In my conclusion, it works well with a portable but over heats using my TM... I have a 20hp #45 blower, so it's on the smaller side... I've been an avid rotary extractor user since the early 1990's... I have never had a problem with my rv360 and rv360i before the brush head... I removed the metal swoops and did the break-in of the brush first wet, then dry.... Better safe than sorry IMHO...

Since I've used the brush head, It burned 1 set of carbon brushes... I installed another set of brushes but it seems that when in-use with my TM, it over heats the RV360i... When I use my portable, it's fine... The last job I used it on I heard a pop sound and smelled something burnt... The RV360i still works but it seems slower and I didn't want to "chance it", so I had to finish up with my Zipper Jr....

I bought the brush head because of the reviews I've read... IMHO I'd have to say that if you use a TM, I'd look to getting a RV360XL... The RV360i with a brush head isn't TM worthy... I hope the armature isn't messed up from the overheating... I've been a avid RV360i supporter and user for a long time... I've never had a problem with the regular 3 metal swoop head...

Get a Zipper Super Spinner and quit playing with toys for boys. :winky:

I believe Mike said early on you need the new motor or it can't handle the resistance.

I switched mine to the glides and I work with the Pro-1200 which has a good size blower, so far I did not have an issue with the motor over heating (however it is a new machine.)

WTF, now you tell me?!? Fook me...... Somehow I don't remember reading that.... I do remember awhile ago @Larry Cobb said something about messing with the speed control....

Nate how old is your machine?

I got my 360i in 2010 I believe.....

I like my quad jet 360i a lot. Same 4 jets and vac shoes as the XL and doesn't need the knobs to ride on. Has variable speed at higher 200 rpm so approximately the same vac shoe speed as the larger diameter XL at 160 rpm. 360i has smaller hole in middle where no cleaning takes place, and can easily be used on stairs. Best of all, provides the same cleaning yet weighs about 30 pounds less, so it will actually get pulled out of the truck and used on most jobs. I think the i is less money too.

We received our brush head with Teflon glides this week and so far it seems to be working great. It does seem to not spin as fast at max speed but no problems as of yet.

I called Nick L. at Rotovac... He got me taken care of... He had me talk with Mike (Service Manager) and said that my Armature is bad... They are sending me out a new armature and carbon brushes to replace mine...

I also asked about changing the torque setting on the controller box but Mike said that wasn't needed... He said I shouldn't have to reset the setting... I did get my RV360i back in 2010... It just seems hard for me to believe I don't have to change the "torque setting"... I broke in the brush head first on dry concrete, then wet for 30mins each... The first time I use the brush head on CGD my 360i gives me problems...

I do have to give credit when I used the BH on that CGD in a school entrance, it did dig a lot of sh!t out of it... That carpet was well worn, heavily impacted with asphalt soil... It brought it to very acceptable level and I didn't have to "Encap it the next day"..

How long did you run it until you started having problems?

First job it was running about 45mins... Then the carbon brush wire that run inside the spring on one side broke... The motor was pretty hot and I could just feel the drag while using it opposed to the regular head...

I changed out the carbon brushes and it work for a few small residential jobs... Then it made the pop sound and I smelt something burnt... It ran slower and I didn't want to continue using it as something was obviously wrong...
