having a hard time getting motivated

what do you do if/when you have trouble getting motivated ??

I'm motivated by "rescue syndrome", in that if the phone rings and someone needs me to do something I will often drop everything to take care of the situation. Makes me happy!

Man, I've been there. In fact, I'm feeling it today. Can't pay the bills, business is slow, commercial accounts are not paying fast, Christmas is bearing down on me. Wondering what I did so wrong in life. If I didn't have a sense of humor, I think I would have taken a swan dive off the dam awhile ago.

That being said, worry about the things you can actually control. The things you can't, just weave your way through it as best you can until you find your position of advantage.

I quit buying christmas presents years ago. Told the wife have at it. She even buys her own and wraps them . At this point it all this christmas present stuff seems so phoney. If we both need something we just go out and buy it. I treat her all during the year with flowers and little presents like a snickers.

Get your second breath in and go back to work, you little baby! I just finished a 14hr job at a megachurch. 770chairs and 1600sq. ft of carpet. The first 4hrs was in the dark cleaning the chairs, because the stupid church quire had to practice their christmas show. And the next 5 hrs was the bratty pastor's 23year old kids playing with the speaker system ("HEY!HEY!HEY! CHECK234 BRIDGE234 CHECK234 POP! POP! POP! HEY! HEY!HEY!")

Get a job like that and your christmas gift related problem won't be there

As for the Dropsy in the ass, I can't help. I'm wore out and I'm on my azz

That’s all true, but sometimes life does throw you a curve that you can’t control. One of my son-in-laws fell off a ladder at work broke his knee cap. No weight on it for 3months. Workman’s comp. claim and he hasn’t gotten a check for a month until today. Sitting in his chair, without money to boot can be depresssing. He would like to get off his fat ass and go to work. You can’t control everything.

We made sure our kids didn't feel left out at all, bought them stuff all the time, and a surprise or two.

we've been busy as hell since May with enough work lined up right now to keep 4 men busy into early Feb

things are pretty good and I'm looking forward to Christmas

I just didn't want to do sheeit today but be lazy
so I didn't do much more than that ..paid the guys, picked up a rib roast for ChristEve dinner , and attempted to do a little Christmas shopping .
That didn't last long due to all morons out

so fook it....everyone else that needs a gift gets Amazon gift cards .......AND THEY'LL LIKE IT!!! DAMMIT
