I read a Southern Baptist report on this a few years back. The premiss of the study was to determine just how Christian American society actually was. Two factors were determined to be key in identifying true faith within members. 1) Sundays School (not preaching) attendance and 2) tithe paying. To make a long story short, I think it was something like 3% of members met these two criteria.
Well we Pentecostals don’t do Sunday School any longer, pretty sure that’s not #cool. Maybe with that criteria being eliminated, maybe the percentage point would go up a tenth of a percent.

My non denom excels in both regards.

Finances are all out in the open with monthly reports and kids of all ages are in groves

That’s the perfect example people think of about church. They see that on tv, or possibly
attended one at sometime in their life, and thought, No Thank You! That’s Not tithing. That’s emotion at the moment. That’s not a long lasting relationship with God (The Father).
It's a terrible look for Christianity. This guy is just as bad. I know we are not supposed to judge, but this is just wrong.

When I was young and a new convert, I listened to a lot of radio, televangelist while driving Diana to work. I really learned a lot from their teaching over the years. However, as you know most became self serving. I also
knew enough to tithe and give to my local church. They were the ones for hospital visits, deaths, marriages, and help when help was needed.

Yeah, I think that’s the growing agenda, to take Bible interaction out of the churches so the future followers will depend more on the pastor ‘s doctrine than what The Word instructs. I’m currently bringing that to attention in my church I go to because it’s starting to bother me.

The pastor’s there are very knowledgeable, but they are commanded to feed the flock

And being a motivational speaker makes people feel good, but they leave hungry

I look at these situations from a totally different angle from the way I was raised and I’m not the traditional church guy. I’m the Sheppard of my church (family) and if I’m allowing them to be directed from a pastor who refuses to use The Word to teach, then I’ll be held accountable.

Isn't that what all organized religions do, and have always done?

I never tell myself or people that I'm religious for that reason

" Oh hi, I'm a person who can't think for myself, and the Holy Spirit is just a concept, how do you do?, would you like join me in my cult?"

In my experience, when a person gets “saved”, the Holy Spirit has a way of guiding
that individual in spirit and truth. The individual might get off the track, but again, He has a way of nudging them back on track. Philippians 2:12 comes to mind.

This is where the wonderful gift of spiritual discernment comes in to play because, even the demons attend church. That’s why Jesus warned us multiple times of that

Robert Morris confessed to having an inappropriate relationship with a young lady. He failed to mention she was 12. His church allowed him to stay as Pastor with that confession, until it was revealed she was 12.

I’m not misquoting anything! Sin is still sin. I’m not making the news, and actually I’m not reporting the news. So no need to come across with that high brow!

They do have pressure, no doubt. If you are blessed to have good ones in your life, and you happen to be their friend and confidant, you know the pressure. That being said, that’s no excuse for them to fall away, or backslide, anymore than a layman. As the Apostle Paul said, I have fought the good fight, I have run the race and kept the faith.

Do you mean the man made kingdoms most religions have in place?

so many rules to em all
No, once again, re-read it as often as you need to gain an understanding of what I’m actually saying. The body of true believers make up Christ’s church on the earth today. The greater your gifts and responsibilities within the church, the harder Satan will fight against you and place obstacles and temptation along your path. These men are guilty of not putting on the armor of God ( let him with understanding hear) but they are no more sinful than the rest of us are. We all put Christ on the cross, and we all have to repent. I’m actually, in some ways, more legalistic than many, as I would never let men who have had leadership positions within the church and lost them for sexual sin ever minister again … no matter their repentance, but I’m not going to sit by and let other Christian’s who are just as sinful virtue signal.

You're both right.

Trump shouldn't be mixing religion with politics. Robert Morris is a good example of why politicians should keep their faith private, not to use religion as a way to get votes from the Bible thumpers.

But the other side of the pool of politicians are demonic! They allowed all the child trafficking and woke nonsense to flourish and spread like a disease.
