Let me start off with this. I know full well my truck is not new. I'm doing the best I can with what I have. Thank god parts are cheap and plentiful for a 1994 C3500.

So I need some help. I'm hoping some of you will step up and post some pics of the interior of your box's. I'm really impressed with this thread: @ronbeatty

http://mikeysboard.com/threads/anyone-put-side-door-in-box-truck.244322/

So here is what I know I will be doing so far. I'll be installing a 6'H X 5'W Todco roll up door. You can see I have the outline taped off in the picture of where the door will go. I'm also going to mount my electric hose reel out the back of the box on the driver's side. It will be mounted up high and upside-down so I can utilize the space under it. Fresh water belly tanks will be installed under the truck to save inner box space.

I would like some ideas of flooring, lighting, wall covering, shelving, and any pictures you can share of your rigs. Thanks!

Can someone tag Mike Draper for me? I don't know his Mikey's board moniker.

Here is my platform. Try not to beat me up to bad.

Nice trucks.
Richard, on average, how many square feet of carpet cleaning will the 135 gal carry you through?
Also what kind of wand jets (flow) and and pressure you normally run the machines at?

I love a clean looking box truck interior. Some of you guys look like you could preform medical operations back there. That is what I want mine to look like. Extra clean. It's the least I can do since my box truck it a bit dated. But overall it's in good shape and straight.

Depends on condition and what they are cleaning. 1500?? :shifty:
PC Quad at 600psi or Zipper or Zipper spinner.

Richard,

Is that a cut out in water tank for cab access?

My 250 oaxly reel, although pretty blue, and looks very well constructed, falls short of holding 250'. The downside of the narrow I see is trying to get the perfect roll up. I chastised my employee saying he rolled up wrong, then I couldn't do either.....

Yes the cut out allows the distributor access to that side of the unit.

Being jammed for space the 16 inches wide made more sense if we can get at least another 50 feet on it. Its supposed to be 300 but I'll take the 250.

I'd send you pictures but I don't think you could handle my truckmount porn. If I were you I'd put sliders under you machine and move it around to see where you like it. Then design it around the machine.

I already know where the machine is going. That s why I have the side door. I know you think I'm manly but sliding a 870 around at will is not something I'm going to do. :)

You won't believe how easy it is with the sliders. I had a powerclean diesel and it slid around pretty easy with sliders. BTW, I don't think of you that way much any more lol.

I've got the tm figured out. Once the door gets in, things should happen fast. I don't have a lot of time to dink around. Once a bolt gets loosened on the 870, it will be all assholes and elbows to get it done. I can't have much downtime.

@Desk Jockey I assume it's a space issue but it looks like you guys rather have swing doors for a side door than a rollup?

My good friend who works for Penske Trucks tell me the maintenance aspects of having a rollup door... I'm going for a swing door, less to go wrong and it's cheaper also..

Looks like that truck is already sagging in the rear. Those U-Hauls are not built to haul a lot of weight. I would consider installing a set of air bags in the rear at least.

Actually. It isn't sagging at all in fact it's leaning forward. Maybe the ground skirt makes it look like it's sagging.

Yes, its a 135 gallon stainless steel. Its only 6 inches wide, has all the baffles, drains and other happy horse shit. :winky:
Very interested in hearing the details on this. What did it cost? Why did you go stainless over say Polly? Very Smart use of space in my opinion!

Money you have it, you spend it, you don't have it. Its all an illusion! :winky:

I don't really know. They told me $1,600.00 but the truck isn't done yet so we have received the final invoice.

I would have went poly had they had a similar design. I needed as narrow floor space as I could get. My distributor suggested custom build. I said sure why not. It saved a bunch of room.
