I have a 5.9 blower and want to know what size engine I need to drive it? And I only want the minimum to power the blower, WITHOUT anything else. I don't want it to bog down of course!
Thanks,Rob Allen.

According to the Dresser Roots website, a 5.9 blower would need to have 32.1 HP to run it at 15" of lift.

The motor off your 405 would handle it just fine. It didn't notice the difference when we swapped the 47 out for a 56.

Thanks Lee. I want to buy a new engine. Know where I can get one wholesale? Good to hear from you. Hope your family is well.

We are running four Nissan engines. I'm very certain they will all be running great for a couple more decades, based on prior experience.

The jury is still out on the Hyundai and GM motors used to replace them by ProChem, Blueline, and others. Once one of those engines has a track record in our industry I'll bite, but until then I'll let others be the guinea pigs...

The Gm motors have proven themselves for years in industrial generators and such. i bet they will make a great slide in engine.
