How would you do it? The countertop looks “clean” to me just need an enhancer. I don’t know if any type of cleaning will remove the water marks or if enhancer will cover completely. I have never used an enhancer before and need advice on application and products. The shower marble has lots of calcium build up. Mikey posted some impressive pics of cleaning stone with a peroxide product. What is the recommended chemical and procedure to clean and should I use an enhancer on this also. Below the marble is metal tile that had been painted black at some point. Below that is small ceramic tile with black grout. Is there any safe way to use an acid on the ceramic without risk to the marble? I do not have any kind of countertop attachments. Is there any effective way of cleaning this without the TM?

That marble is michaelangelo. For the counter I would clean it with terry towels, a streak free neutral cleaner like Stone Pro Crystal Clean, then seal it with an impregnator. As for the shower, looks like efflorescence, needs to be replaced.

I misread the part about the counter having water spots. I would use a honing powder then polish. Depends how bad the water spots are.

Hi Bill,

This marble is Nero Portoro from the Island of Portalina, several versions are available. Over the course of my career I have re-polished four different versions of this beautiful stone.

My appologies, yep yer right Michael. I've got Michaelangelo on the brain after seeing many sq ft of it recently in the Atlantis Casino.

Thanks for the input guys. I’m going to pass on the job. It sounds like a PIA and the opportunity for a Foock up is high. There is not much chance of making money on this one job after buying all the specialty equipment and chems cuz this is would be sub-contract work. Anyone local want a referral?

Check with your local guys and see if anyone does Stone work, if not and u don't get any guys on this board that do it in your area check on Dirty Grout, you might find people there. There's a section on there just for leads/referral. You can always sub the job out or go to the job with the guy, so you can learn and give them a hand, it's fun.
