Toddler slammed down a dry erase pen ERASER on to the off white nylon carpet..

She says it was loaded with the dry ink and made a real mess.

She in a panic made it even worse by first dumping soda water on it followed by rubbing alcohol.


Now she has a soaking wet black spot the size of a dinner plate.....First for me...What would you do?

I'd try to waterclaw it out with jus lukewarm water.

And then decide what type of chemical to use.


Or cut and patch.

If you have VacAway's Pigout or Spotnboost I'd try those.

On a white board a dry erase pen won't come off with waterbase cleaner. I think you'll need to attack it with solvent base. POG and solvent spotter would be my choice if you don't have the others.

First, I'd apply liquid fels and rinse really well. Then I would follow up with Bridgepoints Allsolv Xtreme.

I second Lees suggestion... Had over a hundred ink spots on nylon rug, blasted each one with purple power and everyone was removed easily

Dry ink having been already treAted with Iso alcohol may respond differently but I would start with butyl

Thanks Jimmy, I realize its aggressive and even caustic, but it works effective and efficient when you have a big mess.

I've used. PIG from. Bridgepoint and that stuff is a pain to rinse out completely
