The Cimex's with a little training are almost fool proof. They are built like a tank too.

The OP machines can be finicky. Uneven concrete can throw pads, something that can be overcome by slowing down but a learning curve. They are a little more delicate than the Cimex's are.

We still use them when something has to dry extremely fast. The rug guys use the to clean problematic rugs. We use the for spotting spills in businesses.

I'm glad we have them. In fact last year they asked for another one...but I bought a new Cimex instead. LOL

It does but the two machines have different objectives.

The OP does remove the soil load immediately. The Cimex removal is slowly removed over time during general maintenance (vacuuming).

No about the same if you have an onboard spray system.

I'm an owner operator, so there's no fools working for me, I want immediate removal of spots, and I like the onboard spray system. Should I get the Cimex or OP?

Cimex = Regular vacuuming to remove the encapsulated soil.....

OP = Using a scrubbing pad and/or a bonnet to absorb the soil load, then having to wash to clean them...

Yes some goop is sucked up into the pad or bonnet but not 1/100 of what HWE pulls out. The days of the OP hucksters selling you thousands of pads are gone, have you noticed?
No one was flipping and changing their cotton op pads like they should have (one side every 20 sf or so) so they went to more aggressive synthetic pads and more polymer in the juice to better break loose and HIDE the soil load. Now a daysn the OP gawd make their revenue on over priced juice and grossly overpriced machines that need replacing every 8 months due to planned obsolescence..

The manufacturers had a heck of a time finding a cotton pad that would work with a Velcro type driver without destroying the pad in a few uses. Now we see bristle type drivers pushing micro fiber pads and are told to believe that a whole home's worth of soil is being contained in the foam inside the pad..

Some HWE die hards will never come to terms with using magic to "clean" Carpet, Saiger, Erik, Lockhart for example.

I prefer to grind away on commercial with a Cimex and post pad the gooey areas with a 175 when needed.

OPs with spray ahead systems and I don't get along. YMMV.

Get a Cimex and a 175 with some pads. If the time comes you feel you have out grown the 175 and want something more aggressive do so. Meanwhile the 175 will give you a similar experience.

I also have a dual speed 175, 13 incher though. Im going cimex too. Hmmm i wish i coud get ahold of those guys that have them in the garage collecting dust
