Idiots like Robison and Yo-cum keep saying how great they are. I figure I can put them to the test and you also.
Lets lead my company in 2 directions. Decide the 2 ways of marketing and I will commit $1,000 to each and see which one does better. Internet? Print? Social? in your face bidding? type of ads? you decide and let me know.
we have 1 week to come up ith 2 programs
Internet, Print, Social, in your face bidding type of ads etc.. are just tools. The important thing to go is to first form a strategy. Then use the tools that are the best to implement your chosen strategy.
Think of it as if you are a General going into war.
The best executed strategy wins. Not necessarily who has the most money, best uniforms or shiniest buttons.
Remember when the British were coming. During the revolutionary war the British had the most money, they had more firepower, they had vast experience conquering other countries for hundreds of years. They even had some very dandy looking uniforms.
Look at the ones that defeated them. A determined, rag tag bunch without any money that were outmatched in firepower and almost every other way. Yet they won!!! Hooray!!
The Americans won because of they executed a winning strategy. Not because of the tools they used to fulfill the strategy.
First strategize your marketing goals.
Don't just think of it as throwing money against a wall. Or should I go print or Radio etc...
Here is a list of some generic things that you and most other business can do to improve their bottom line..
(Most of them cost little or no money)
1. Get more online client reviews.
2. Develop a unique selling position for your company.
3. Contact your clients on a regular basis.
4. Develop and implement a client referral system.
5. Form relationships with centers of influences in your community.
6. Sell by the group instead of one at a time.
7. Teach your techs proper selling techniques in your morning meetings.
Which of these or what other things (Dust off your "marketing things to do when I get around to it" file)do you want to work on for your company?
Your next thing to do is to make an complete action plan with firm dates and all the steps needed to complete them.
Then choose the best tools to execute them.
So, quit looking at the bullets (the tools)and first figure out who you will be firing them at, for how long, the type of weapon, range of attack, will it be a multiple attack and so forth.....
Or, no matter how much money you throw at it, you will lose the war.
.....Waiting for the Yoakum ruins another post thread to follow....
