Hole, slot or hybrid

GreenGlidesLLC runs in waves, certain tools and Glides sell in batches for reasons I can't explain.

Questions come in waves as well and this past week has been; "which Glide should I buy, hole, hybrid or slot?"

If their age and experience isn't obvious, that's my first question followed by what extractor and wand they're using and most importantly, who are they cleaning for..

And I find that my answer is the same for everyone but apartment and restaurant guys..

The hole pattern will make your customer and your body the happiest, and you'll use it 90% of the time.

The slot pattern is best for those jobs that you hope will never call back.

And the hybrid is a compromise for those regrettable wands that don't allow for easy peasy swapping of the Glide to the best suit the task at hand...



I've been selling a lot of hole Glides lately....

I don’t think I could survive any longer in the industry without my hole glide. My son, on the other hand, seems to prefer the hybrid. I don’t know why. Sometimes it’s best not to ask questions.

For commercial, I do like the slot, but if I did more residential, either of the other two would be better. But, I’d change my whole M O. I’d have to use my truckmount more.

I want the fastest dry times
I have an Everest and clean at 500 most of the time and want to start bumping it down as much as possible
Most homes are clean and I’m only focused on traffic patterns and dry times

What do you suggest?

Hole is by far the best

When the Glide is so flat that you can move the other end up and down without breaking the seal on the carpet, it's time..

Why?

Because after a lot of back and forth and testing both glides. The dry times difference is minimal at best.

The hole glide struggles to suck up dead moths or similar debris we find in homes. I hate having to unhook my hose to suck something up that my wand should be able to get. And before you make assumptions about vacuuming. We have the customer vacuum, we vacuum, we prespray, CRB, all before HWE.

And if we are saying that slot cleans trashed carpet better, wouldn't it also clean any carpet better?

But, The argument that a hole dries faster than a slot I feel is a bit over embellished.

I do want to make it clear that the Green Glide in any shape is a true asset to any wand. I just happen to have a difference of opinion on which version is best.

If you’re having to pick up dead moths with your vacuum hose, then I think it’s safe to say you SUCK at vacuuming. Charge a little more and take the time necessary to force yourself to vacuum properly. Or, just admit that you only vacuum on line.

There's no doubt in my mind that with proper cleaning procedure hole Glide works better but of course you need to balance out the system and all things shouldn't be equal when you change Glides

If you're skipping the vacuum step what else are you doing (wrong) that you're not seeing the drying time difference between the two, and why over clean a carpet if you don't have to?

Have you ever cleaned a log home? In Montana we have a lot of them. During the spring any high ceiling log home when temps are changing causes flys, moths, and box elder bugs to drop at any given time. They also drop when moving furniture around, turning ceiling fans on, or when the HVAC system kicks them out when the blower kicks on. So I don't care how awesome you are at vacuuming.

P.S. I vacuum better than you.

Chosen wand. And I don't skip steps. I laid out my exact steps above. What do you mean by over clean a carpet? Are you implying that using a slot is over cleaning?

I'm always trying to grow and learn. I think that since 2015 I have probably bought almost every new machine, tool, prespray that you have marketed as industry game changer. I'm always learning.
