Becker;

Pull the valve covers off both heads.

Pull the rocker arms and pushrods.

Remove the crankcase cover off the back of the engine.

Camshaft gear and cam is accessible.

Yeah. I have the cam gear exposed. Have the valve covers off.

So if I pull the push rods then the cam will just pull out?

Thanks for the help.

I loosened the rockers enough to move them aside. Pulled the push rods.

And the cam pulled right out.

I have a new cam and new carb on the way.

And yes. I will clean and reclean the inside of the block and replace filter before firing it up.

But the machine just flat died. So I'm sure all the f
Platic peices are in the bottom of the block.

Would be nice to get another 3k hrs out of it. Maybe more as it will be driving a propane heat unit.

3,000 is good service for the Honda engine.

Another 3,000 is very unlikely, without a complete rebuild.

Ok. To be honest. Another 1000 would be great. 1500 awesome.

But who knows. All else looks great. I've been great about oil changes. Engine is going on a propane unit. So less back pressure might help her along.

Found cam for 100.00. 10.00 shipping.

Worth the cost to see.
