How are your flooring ID skills?

Can you look at any flooring type and come up with a cleaning plan without touching, scratching, sniffing or burning it?

With as many newcomers that I talk to I tell them to make it their full-time hobby, for at least 6 months, to touch scratch smell and burn every flooring type they come across on their daily adventures they should be able to fine tune those skills along with some additional trips to floor and decor, countertop manufacturers, the big box stores and anywhere else where they can see multiple flooring types from all angles..

To me its a natural part of my overly curious life to do this everywhere I go, and I've become quite good at it, even from just photos.

When we toured the Ronald McDonald House last week with 25 instructors and influencers, I asked if anybody could identify the tile in the front lobby.... and not a single one of them knew for sure.
Only my friend Brian got on his knees and scratched the floor to determine that it was not the porcelain he believed it was, but rather a green slate..

We're talking guys with 50 years experience in floor cleaning..... :eekk:

How about you?

I replaced spark plugs, wires, 1 coil and a pita placed vacuum tube on my 2015 GMC Savana. We’re slow so I had the time. This is not any less interesting than your original post so save me the insult

I hope one day you two will meet again at a 'Fest or event.

Somewhere, deep in my heart, I know it will be like the last time David and Jonathan saw each other.

I didn't kiss anyone last week.

But there were some monumental hugs.

Especially for the attendee who died, and God gave a second chance too...

While the person involved should be known to only those involved, the redemptive arc that occurred at the meeting likely would have happened no where else, and we'd have lost a shining start in our firmament.

Thank you, and those close to you both, for helping on his road to recovery.

He's got a whole lot more to give, especially to those newer to our industry, who can benefit from his gifts.

A lot of the old timers at my church mention frequently that they would like to move on now and be done with it..

I don't understand that mentality but I can assume they've lost their purpose and for the most part are alone in unfortunately what should be the most impactful part of their lives..

I have to think that I challenge your beliefs in God.

This story will as well...

Your faith will improve as you mature in the faith.
Just remember … you used to hate padding.

That is true! He is saying don’t go get a new Corvette at the drop of a hat🤷🏼‍♂️ I still wanna see how big my youngest grandson,11, is gonna get😬 My 22 y/o is getting married in July. Her brother graduates high school in May, and will go to OU in the fall. Way too much to do and see before I go. If He says Quitten Time, so be it though.
