This is the pulley to motor for my hose reel on my 2004 Vortex.

I removed the pin and wedge but still have difficulty removing the pulley. I'm trying a gear puller but still seams difficult. Even used WD40.
What am I missing?

You can hit it with a dead blow hammer with the puller on it. If not heat it.

Spray it liberally with PB Blaster, let it sit for 20 minuets, lightly heat it with torch, should pop off.

Check on the spray bottle of what your using some of them will cause a fire if it's not dry when you apply the heat. jz.

Get the gear puller real tight and smack the end you put the wrench on. It should pop loose after a couple tries.

Oil of wintergreen is the best penetrant on Earth. Let it soak in overnight. Then pull and warm the pulley. It will expand slightly on the shaft and break loose. Polish and oil the surfaces lightly before putting it back on.

Take and screw a bolt of the proper size and thread and screw it into the center hole and it will push the pulley right off

If there are threads in the center hole do as Bawb suggests. You may need a pair of large slip joint pliers to hold the pulley while turning the bolt. WD-40 is not a very good penetrant.

Your puller is pretty light/bendy - a stouter puller would probably help.

As far as penetrants, everyone has their fave - mine is Kroil from Kano Labs - the stuff is magic....

Yeah That's The pulley I wanted to get but wasn't available at store near me. I'll look for it at other places tomorrow, cuz I think I'll need it.

I got PB Blaster-- May God!! I'm Surprised that's stuff is legal!! I washed away the rust like nothing I've ever seen!

In addition to Bob's suggestion, put some grease in the thread hole before installing the bolt. Hydralic pressure will help topop the pulley off.

Tie it to a fire hydrant and drive around the block a few times
Works every time !
