How do you service and maintain a SureFlow 150 psi pump?

I got one that's about to kack in my old Ninja.

What's the best way to take care of these pumps?

Before you "R&R".....Run a 50/50..mix of white vinegar & HOT water through the pump in question....You will be AMAZED....when you see the Sh@T that come out of it... :shock:

Thanks John that's what I suspected.

I also wonder if a person could run some lubricant through the impeller and let it sit in there for a few hours then thoroughly rinse the unit. Maybe softening up the diaphragm soft parts and lubricating them might help but I've never heard of it being done on these motors.


This Ninja is going to get an extreme makeover in the future.

I also have a new Mytee RL105 coming my way in the next few days. Check out the specs on the Mytee and it runs 2" tools too.

1 gal of WHITE Vinegar...1 Gal of HOT water...

Go ahead and attach the wand....Just remove the spray jet

This is the same procedure as descaling a TM...

after it is clean....Run 1 gal of HOT water/with 2 oz. of dish-soap through the unit..

This will Lubricate the rubber parts and flush-out the vinegar (acid)....

Key word was "old Ninja".The pump is $145 or so. Cost less and is more reliable to R&R if you suspect it is ready to go. At least if you bring it to me. Would make no sense to pay $80+ for my guys to spend an hour trying to repair a $145 part that has already done it's duty and deserves to be put to rest

Go with a a sure flow pump... The solinoids suck on the flow jets.

This machine only has to make it another week and then it's being replaced by a new Mytee RL105.

The Ninja will be pimped with powerful motors and a 500psi pump all running off of two cords with a 2 inch standpipe and outlet.

Another modification will be to chop some more vents into the case even if it makes the unit noisier. Heat is really hard on these units and in Terje's and my opinion that is what kills them.

Well here I am back about an hour later after I gave my Ninja some afternoon lovin...

It seems to have worked immediately. It sounds slightly different and it seems to pump better too.

I also ran the solution through all my tools and then followed this up with a good soap rinse followed by a straight water flush. The valve on the cheap Ninja wand now works better too.

1/2 gallon of white vinegar and 1/2 gallon of very hot water. BUT I figured it wouldn't hurt to run the same water throught twice before I ran the soap rinse through it.

Great...

It is a great way to maintain ALL electric pump...!

The vinegar is an "acid"...it breaks down the high PH of the chems we use...!

The only draw-back is the vinegar can attack the brass parts in any unit...
So alway do a Quick rinse with a nuetral detergent to wash away the residue's

Ps..The vinegar "removes" Hard Water deposits...!!!

Two Multi-Sprayers that we use Daily....That are 4 years old ...SAME pumps.. :wink:



PS....ONLY USE "WHITE" VINEGAR...!!!!!!!!!
You can use STAIGHT white vinegar...YOU Won't hurt any thing...Just RINSE well..
