I have one of the tall blue ones with the external brine tank that I recharge every forty machine hours. It's about eight years old.

I've heard of replacing the resin. When does this need to be done?

I know, I could get some paper and test the hardness, but it's easier to ask you.

Thanks,

John

We have one in our basemt that is from 1974 and it works great. Really hard water here and we test the water every 2-5 weeks at home depending on if its summer or not. It produces super soft water still. I wouldn't replace until it quits producing soft water.

The paper is your best bet different items fail at different times no way of knowing exactly.
