I SERIOUSLY can not for the life of me recollect how I ever "cleaned" more than two homes a day back in my yoots.

I really prefer just doing one in the $800 range, but its two a day season right now. Got me thinking about my Mullers and Coit days where I would do ....something... at 5 to 7 homes a day..

Something...

I honestly just cant phantom what the hell that something included.

I suppose if I never conversed with the homeowner, left my phone at home, did half a dry stroke in the traffic lanes and didnt bother with runners and F'n corner guards, I could do three...

We stood tall an carried on the mission.
That's why the bb is powerful now...
Run by those who talk an walk the walk...
Regards to all who fit the above description...

Dude you were a young pup back then. You didn't even feel it.

Now you're an old dog like a lot of us. You can still do it, but you feel it.

You need a helper, someone to hand the wand off to, while you yak with the customer.

What is the upselling to get to that price?

And what is your minimum charge if you don't mind me being nosy
All of our pricing is available on our website so I can share. Our current minimum is $155 but that will be going up soon. That usually covers up to 3 areas or 600sq ft. Our average ticket is higher because we do more than carpet cleaning. We upsell Scotchguard, extra rooms, upholstery, etc, but the average ticket is $309 because we do a lot of housewash and air ducts, which we charge a lot more for. Minimum for housewash is $275 and I haven’t seen an air duct job under $300 I don’t think

I try to keep it at three a day. Sometimes I screw up and put on a fourth. I hate myself on those days. Strictly Monday through Friday. Except for the random commercial job

Yeah, I'm happy with 2 a day. Three a day is my max. Today I have three and same tomorrow. I need a Starbucks.

Wow. I just had today’s last job canceled. They called and wanted me to move it to Saturday. I said sorry but no I can only do today. They said fine. They called back about 10 minutes later said they found somebody that would do it on Saturday, plus the other company is going to do five rooms for $150. Whereas I was only going to do three rooms for $150. I just laughed, told him thanks and hung up the phone.
I think we all know the rest of the story.

Truck mounts and glides have made cleaning into your late middle aged years, and with some men, senior years, still doable.

In the days of portables, a carpet cleaner had to have employees who could lift machines that were the weight of small refrigerators in and out of trucks all day.

If you weren't a "non-working" owner-manager by your 40's, you were out of the business.

I lost a good friend Tuesday morning, he was 59. Went to work and had a heart attack and died. Left behind his 43 year old wife, 16 year old daughter and 24 year old son.

Shes devastated, its shocking, he was thin, not heavy and looked to be in good health. The neighbor commented she had just seen him shirtless mowing the lawn and he was tan and slim.

I've know them for 24 years, she worked for us for 8 years before staying home with a baby.

That ranks up there with Diana losing one of her nieces at 54 this past week. She too worked for us for years until striking out on her on. She climbed a roof just before going to work in the rain, slipped, fell off and snapped her neck, both legs and arms and bruised her heart😭 She was trying to adjust a tarp🥲
