How much pre-spray do you use?

On an average 500 sq ft of carpet cleaning, how much pre spray do you guys use. I use a hydroforce sprayer and one jug puts out about 10 gallons. Do you use half a jug? That would be a gallon every 100 feet. Just wondering

Way too many factors to figure in to answer that one, residential, commercial, heavey soil, spots, shag, low cut pile, burber, rat nasty rentals...........

That seems like more than double what we would use.

But to qualify that statement we clean a lot of light to moderately soiled carpet.

If I had to come up with an average I'd say a half gallon per 100 sq ft

I run my hydroforce 4 to1 and usually 5 rooms over a 1000 sq ft avg gets the whole bottle some times half depends.

5 gallons for ten rooms plus stairs in a nice house on the country club

Used to use 3 times that until I switched to a multisprayer. Cleans just as good but dry times are no longer a challenge.
