How to get protein shake off the floor?

My son spilled protein shake all over the floor a while ago. It has been there for about a year. I tried to get some of it off with a basic carpet cleaner solution, but it wasn't able to remove the denser/darker areas on the carpet. When I feel the carpet, it seems like the protein shake has solidified onto it which could be the reason why.

Is there any carpet cleaning solution I can buy to remove this? Due to financial issues I can't really afford to hire a professional cleaner to take care of this issue. So I prefer to do everything myself if possible.

I did a stain which was from a similar type of shake and removed it with red relief from vacaway. I normally use peroxide for a stain like that if the shake is all organic. It didn't work this time, maybe it needed a little more time. Anyway I sprayed and left the red relief on it and it worked.

Ryan, go get some pet urine enzyme from the local Wal Mart ($5). Spray it generously onto the spot and then cover it with Saran wrap. Put a folded towel on the plastic to weight it down.
Spray more every so often as the stuff is absorbed into the crust. The idea is to soften and "digest" the protein shake residue.
When it finally softens, scrape it out with a spoon, use a stiff brush to loosen it and/or blot it with a towel.

To rinse, use a wet or dry shopvac (remove the paper filter) and gently pour hot water around the nozzle pressed firmly on the spot. The water will flow through the fiber and carry material into the shopvac. Make sure you suck it out as well as you can. Don't stop until it feels as dry as you can make it with suction.

If it is still stained, try spritzing hydrogen peroxide or something like Oxyclean on it, cover it again and go watch TV. Give it an hour or two, rinse, repeat until happy.

This method is dirt cheap and works for most organic spills. It is a process, not a single event. No special equipment needed beyond common sense.

Good luck and yes, when things get better, hire a professional cleaner at least once!

A lawsuit was filed against a very well known and widely recognized Internet forum in the cleaning and restoration industry. The aforementioned lawsuit alleges that bad advice to a customer -seeking help from the forum, to remove carpet stains - resulted in a fire at a dwelling (not publicized location). The home of Ryan123456 was a total loss. The homeowner seeks damages in excess of $457,000 for a rebuild. mikeysboard.com (the forum allegedly named in the lawsuit) has prepared a statement: "We are very much shocked by the events unfolding. Us, at the forum are prepared to give any help Ryan123456 may need. One of our sister forums, happens to be specializing in mental disorders. We will make sure that Ryan123456 will be assigned to them as a case study...because he is dumb as heck"

A phone call to the forum owner did not yield an answer to what do they mean by "dumb as heck". He says he was busy destroying carpet cleaning companies in the LT area of the state of Nevada, when he is not riding a loud motor bike.
